Electronic vehicle registration application
From 18 January 2027 drivers will be able to submit a vehicle registration application electronically — most likely through the mObywatel app or another e-administration platform. This is another step in the digitisation of office formalities.
What does this mean in practice?
The idea behind electronic registration is to offer:
- at least one fewer visit to the office,
- the possibility of handling the entire matter online in some cases,
- less paperwork to complete and submit,
- a shorter waiting time for the case to be processed.
Will everything be available online straight away?
It is worth remembering that the new system will only just be rolled out. At first there may be technical limitations or exclusions for certain types of registration. It is therefore worth following office announcements and checking which matters can already be handled electronically.
Legal basis
The change results from the amendment to the Road Traffic Law of 7 November 2025 (Dz.U. 2025 item 1734), published in the ISAP system.
